Household Tasks

A clean, calm home makes everything else easier — but keeping on top of it isn’t always simple. We provide warm, reliable NDIS Household Tasks support across Chatswood and Sydney’s Lower North Shore, in both Mandarin and English. From cleaning and laundry to meal prep and the everyday admin that piles up, we help quietly and predictably — and we keep your home the way you like it kept.

What is “Assistance with Household Tasks”?

Assistance with Household Tasks is NDIS-funded support with the everyday domestic jobs that keep a home running, where disability makes them hard to manage on your own. In your plan it sits under the line item “Assistance with Household Tasks”, within your Core Supports budget.

In plain terms: it’s practical help around the house — cleaning, washing, cooking, shopping, and keeping things organised — so your home stays comfortable and you’ve got more energy for the things that matter.

Maintaining a household can be overwhelming, especially for families navigating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), sensory processing differences, or physical barriers. At Journey In Action Support, we don’t just clean your house; we provide culturally respectful, sensory-conscious household support. We respect your space, your routine, and your unique sensory needs, communicating with you clearly in Mandarin or English.

How We Support You:

There are many different cleaning equipment lying on the blue table, including spray bottles, brushes, window wiper and gloves, etc.
  • Sensory-Friendly General Cleaning: We use low-decibel equipment to minimize auditory distress and prioritize fragrance-free, eco-friendly products so there are no harsh chemical smells to trigger sensory overload.
  • Respecting ‘Safe Zones’ & Routines: We know that predictability is essential. We establish clear boundaries during our initial chat. If certain rooms, desks, or items are “no-touch zones,” we strictly honor that. We arrive on time and follow a visual or agreed-upon schedule.
  • Kitchen & Bathroom Hygiene: Thorough, safe, and efficient cleaning of wet areas to maintain high hygiene standards, using non-toxic solutions that are safe for sensitive individuals.
  • Laundry & Organisation: Assisting with washing, drying, and changing bed linen, as well as basic home organization to keep pathways clear and reduce visual clutter, promoting a calming environment.
  • Bilingual Communication: We can provide our daily communication in Mandarin, ensuring parents and participants fully understand and feel comfortable with the support being provided in their home.
